Cookie Policy
This site sets no cookies. Not one. There is no analytics, no advertising, no social media pixel and nothing from a third party that follows you around. Two small values are kept in your browser: the language you picked and the choice you made on the banner. They never leave your device. Everything is listed below.
1Why this page exists at all
Most cookie policies are long because the site behind them is doing a lot. This one is short because the site is doing almost nothing. We publish it anyway, for two reasons: you are entitled to know what a website puts on your machine before it puts it there, and because saying "we don't use cookies" is only worth something if you can check it.
Strictly, nothing here is a cookie. A cookie is a small file the server asks your browser to store and then sends back with every request. This site is a set of static pages and asks for nothing of the sort. What it does use is local storage, which lives in your browser and is never transmitted anywhere. We treat it under this policy because the effect on you is the same: something is kept on your device.
2Everything stored on your device
| Name | Kind | What it is for | Set when | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
lang |
Local storage, first party | Remembers whether you read the site in English or Arabic, so you do not have to switch every visit. | Only after you choose "That's fine" on the banner. | Never, until you clear your browser storage. Removed immediately if you switch to "Essential only". |
brain_consent |
Local storage, first party | Remembers which of the two buttons you pressed on the banner. Without it the banner could not honour your answer, and would ask again on every page. | When you press either button. | Never, until you clear your browser storage. |
Neither value is sent to our server, neither can identify you, and neither is readable by any other website.
3What this site does not do
- No analytics of any kind: no Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo or equivalent.
- No advertising, remarketing or conversion tracking.
- No Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok or other social pixels.
- No session cookies, no user accounts, no fingerprinting.
- No third-party cookies at all: nothing sets a cookie on this domain, ourselves included.
Because there is no tracking to switch off, there is no "reject all" that would do anything. The banner offers the only real choice there is: whether we may remember your language.
4Third parties your browser still contacts
Two things on this site reach outside it. Neither stores anything on your device, but both mean a request leaves your browser, and a request carries your IP address.
Google Fonts
The typeface used throughout the site is served by Google Fonts. Every page load fetches the font files from fonts.gstatic.com, and Google receives your IP address and the standard request headers in order to answer. We do not receive anything from Google in return, and we cannot see what Google does with the request. If you would rather this did not happen, a content blocker will stop it and the site will fall back to a system typeface without breaking.
The WhatsApp buttons are ordinary links. Nothing is sent anywhere until you click one, at which point you leave this site for a service run by Meta Platforms, under their terms and their privacy policy.
5Changing your mind
You can reopen the banner and change your answer at any time: change what this site stores. Choosing "Essential only" deletes the stored language immediately.
You can also clear everything from the browser itself. In most browsers it is under Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data, choosing "Cookies and other site data". That removes both values above and the banner will ask again on your next visit.
6Changes to this policy
If we ever add something that stores or transmits more than what is described here (an analytics tool, an embedded map, a chat widget), this page will be updated before it goes live, and the banner will ask you again.
